Testifying to the collective strength of Maritime Singapore, home-grown global container group PSA was recognised with two awards by readers of Asia Cargo News. PSA International won “Best Global Container Terminal Operating Company” while PSA Singapore Terminals clinched “Best Container Terminal – Asia (Over 4 million TEUs).”
Mr Andrew Tan, Chief Executive of Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) said, “We are humbled and honoured by this Award. Despite a challenging operating environment, we were able to retain our position as the world’s busiest container transhipment hub in 2015. That said, we are not resting on our laurels. MPA will continue to work closely with industry stakeholders to plan ahead and implement measures to keep our current standing. Construction is already underway for our future Tuas Terminal that will see a total capacity of up to 65 million TEUs upon full completion. Apart from providing high-tech infrastructure to improve efficiency and productivity, we will also continue to improve our services to all our customers. ”
