A collision between chemical tanker Paros Wind and bulk carrier CS Jaden was reported yesterday (August 31).
The incident occurred shortly before midnight local time, while both vessels were approaching the Bosporus Strait in the Black Sea, approximately 8 nautical miles north from the entrance of the waterway.
The 38.101-dwt bulker was on its way from Istanbul to Port Said, Egypt loaded with wheat when it collided with the tanker.
The 17.060 dwt oil product tanker was en route from Tuapse, Russia to an unknown destination.
A rescue boat of the Turkish marine authorities has been dispatched at the incident location along with 10 tug boats. Both vessels were taken to Kumkoy road, north of Istanbul and anchored.
There is no report for injured people, both vessels are being assessed for damage, the extent of which is still unknown.
