Dublin Port has set a new record with the arrival of MSC Splendida. The 333-metre cruise ship became the longest one to ever call the port.
Yesterday, May 11, the MSC Splendida, which is the world's 11th longest cruise ships, was greeted at the port by a Celtic-inspired welcome including a live ceili band, typical Irish dancers and drummers.
The total of 83 cruise calls have been confirmed for the Port of Dublin in 2015, which means that roughly 140,000 will visit the Irish city.
Dublin Port has been confirmed as the first Irish port to welcome a cruise ship from the Disney Cruise Line fleet. The line has confirmed that their Disney Magic is to call Dublin Port on May 26 next year as part of a transatlantic cruise from Port Canaveral to Dover.
