Global Energy Group said last Friday that the first jack-up rig “Noble Hans Deul” berthed at the Nigg Terminal Jetty where it will lay up while awaiting it’s next contract.
The rig safely pinned its legs down on Mar 19 at around 7:30 pm after being maneuvered into position with the assistance of Caledonian Towage’s Strathdon harbour tug.
Global Energy Group took over the lease and operation of the jetty on the 28th February this year, and there has already been a lot of interest in using the deep water facility.
They plan on utilising the jetty as an extension of the Port of Nigg berthing capability, and are hopeful that further vessels will utilise the facility in the coming weeks and months.
