Four of the newest 24.000 TEU class container ships, the biggest in the world, from shipping company HMM will call at the ECT Delta terminal during their maiden voyage in the coming period.
HMM has ordered 12 new ultra-large containerships, seven of which have now been delivered and the other ships will follow from August 2020. The HMM Algeciras was the first of the new fleet that called at the Port of Rotterdam last June.
The HMM Oslo, HMM Dublin, HMM Copenhagen and the HMM Southampton will all come for their first load call at ECT. The HMM Oslo called as the first one at the ECT Delta terminal on Monday, 6th of July 2020.
All ships have a maximum capacity of around 24,000 TEU. In addition to the impressive dimensions with a length of 400 meters and a width of 61 meters, they are also eco-friendly and extremely high efficiency ships according to the shipping line.
